2025 Audition Information
Auditions will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Groove Nation between 12:30PM and 5:30PM.

ALL DANCERS WHO MEET THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE WELCOME TO AUDITION and guaranteed a role:
5 Years Old by August 31, 2025 | 1 Year of Ballet Experience | Currently Enrolled in Ballet
*Dancers who are five may audition as long as meet the date requirement and are currently enrolled in ballet. They do not need a full year of ballet experience to audition. All other dancers must meet all three requirements to participate.

HOw to REgister for the 2025 season:
Step 1) VDT Handbook Review: Prior to registering your dancer(s) for auditions, please read the Vancouver Dance Theatre Handbook and then sign the Permission Waiver and Release of Liability form. All participants are required to complete this step before auditions. This will ensure that you have all of the necessary information for a successful Nutcracker season.

Step 2) Register Dancer(s): Register your dancer(s) for auditions by completing the 2025 Nutcracker Audition Form. Please fill out this form for each dancer who will be auditioning prior to arrival at auditions. For example: if you have three dancers you will fill out this form three times.
Step 3: Pay Fees: If you wish to pay dancer fees and fundraising buyout before auditions, click below.

Step 4: Come to Auditions on September 20th! A complete audition schedule will be released on Tuesday, September 16th. Stayed tuned for that to be posted here. There will be a mandatory parent/guardian meeting during your dancer's audition time to share helpful information for the upcoming season. Please plan to attend.

Fees to Participate:
-Membership Fee of $35 (one per family) is due at the time of audition and is non-refundable.
-Production Fee of $55 (per dancer) is due by September 28th and is non-refundable.
-Fundraising - Each dancer is expected to fundraise a total of $150 ($75.00 for 2nd+ dancer) to be completed by November 9th or alternately you may choose a fundraising buy-out (must be paid by September 28th) for $90 (per dancer).
Volunteering Responsibilities:
VDT is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board. In order to create a successful show, all families are required to volunteer time toward the production. Families will need to complete TWO pre-production jobs and THREE production jobs. To learn more about the volunteer options, see the Members Season Info tab and then click on Volunteer. Thank you for your participation! We couldn't do this without you.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays every weekend from September 27th until November 30th at Groove Nation. A weekly rehearsal schedule will be posted here and sent out via email by Tuesday of each week. Rehearsal is vital to ensuring that dancers have adequate time to memorize and practice their dances, and is therefore mandatory.
Show Week: Dancers will perform in four productions during show week. Show week is the week of December 1st. Dress rehearsals will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd and Thursday, December 4th at Fort Vancouver High School. Shows will be at Fort Vancouver High School on Friday, December 5th, two shows on Saturday, December 6th, and a final matinee on Sunday, December 7th.
